Officers
Deborah Snyder is an Army Veteran and a native of Alexandria, Virginia. She retired in 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel with 21 years of service as a helicopter pilot in the Aviation Branch. Lieutenant Colonel Snyder is a Magna cum laude graduate of James Madison University and a distinguished military graduate of JMU’s Reserve Officer Training Corps program. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and a Masters in Military Studies. She served in a variety of leadership positions to include Platoon and Company Commander, Operations Officer, Branch Chief, Liaison Officer and Division Chief. She also has extensive experience managing programs at the tactical and strategic levels. Lieutenant Colonel Snyder is a decorated combat Veteran. Her formal military training includes the Aviation Advanced & Basic Courses; Air Assault & Airborne schools; UH-1 “Huey” & UH-60 Blackhawk Flight Training, and the Test Pilot Course. Deborah also attended the Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Marine Command and Staff College and the Army Force Management School.
Deborah currently works for the Department of Defense. She is passionate about helping others, especially those who sacrificed so much for this country through military service. Deborah conceived and established Operation Renewed Hope Foundation in 2011 specifically to help homeless Veterans. She leads a team of professionals equally dedicated to this challenge.
Karl Williams is a skilled executive with over 25 years of diverse leadership experience to include an entrepreneurial track record in launching new technology businesses both as a startup and within established public corporation (Vodium, Harris Corporation), Private Equity portfolio management (Cerberus Capital Management), and world class corporate operations (General Electric, Lockheed Martin). Karl is a graduate of West Point Military Academy and was a UH-60 (Blackhawk) Instructor Pilot at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Karl is the Chief Operating Officer of PAE and oversees the company’s three business units As a member of our Board of Directors, Karl is involved with management and fundraising and as a Veteran he empathizes with the homeless side of Veterans and is committed the effort.
Matt is COO of ManTech Mission Solutions & Services Group, leading the company’s mission-critical support of defense, national security and federal civilian departments and agencies. In this role, he is responsible for strategic development and rapid deployment of advanced, best-in-class solutions tailored to meet the needs of the company’s customers. Matt is a veteran and served for 10 years with the U.S. Navy.
Greg Jacobson is a highly specialized professional consultant with nearly 20 years of experience supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, Army, Navy, and our Veterans. He is a Vice President at Enterprise Resource Performance, Inc. (ERPi). In this role his team assists to ensure our Military is properly resourced, timely to respond to threats; our Veteran’s service and sacrifice is honored through receiving highly supportive customer experience and protection from benefits fraud; our Military and Veteran’s mental and physical health, and housing needs are met; and, our financial markets thrive and intellectual property is safeguarded. In his prior job as a Manager at KPMG LLP, he worked closely with his leadership to grow KPMG’s Federal Advisory Practice from 30 to 300 employees in five years and is on track to accomplish this same growth at ERPi in 2020. Greg holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Business Information Technology, with a concentration in Decision Support Systems, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
While supporting the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF MD) as a volunteer for nearly twenty years, Greg held a Board of Director position for seven years along with participating in the Executive Board, and in their Funds Development and Strategic Planning committees. Additionally, he led NKF’s Golf committee as Chairman for ten years and, with his co-chairs and committee, raised over $1M. He was recognized by NKF MD as their Volunteer of the Year. Greg currently supports Pathfinders for Autism, and serves as ORHF’s Immediate Past Chairman and has been a Board of Director for the past six years.
In his current role as a Senior Manager in Accenture’s Federal Finance and Enterprise Performance practice, he leads five Navy projects in support of the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) effort to improve financial processes and related financial data integrity. As the Bureau of Naval Personnel’s Deputy Comptroller, he transformed and revitalized the financial business processes as best practices which significantly improved the Navy’s ability to monitor financial data and provided leadership with timely, reliable, and accurate data to make decisions.
Frank has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oregon State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Naval Postgraduate School. He joins ORHF with a passion to end homelessness among Veterans.
Directors
Anne Bolger is a North Carolina Tar Heel where she was an all around student, All-State in Basketball, and later attended Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) in Wilson, North Carolina. However, and more important, she’s an Army wife of almost 40 years and will forever call the Army home! Her vocation is that of a Mother who has often worked to provide a better life for her family and as well provide her the opportunity to spend time with usually very wonderful people. She is also an avid supporter of both the North Carolina Tar Heel and George Mason Patriot basketball programs.
She is married to John, a career Army officer and West Point graduate and who now as a senior government civilian still works on the Army staff in the Pentagon. Their daughter Michelle, who also lives and works in Virginia, is a High School Valedictorian and has Masters Degrees from Marymount University and the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.
Early on Anne spent time as an agent and management assistant with both Piedmont and Delta Airlines and thru the years managed several travel agencies as well as a military travel center in Wurzburg, Germany when John was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in the European Theater. Overtime, Anne moved into the banking arena where she has managed affairs and is now a Bank Officer and Assistant to the President of Sandy Spring Bank’s Virginia operations. Her most important job, however, has always been that of the Army Wife and her fondest memories other than sharing in the successes of her family are those of mentoring and taking care of Soldiers and their Families from the 82d Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, to the School House and Firing Ranges of Ft. Sill Oklahoma, in Europe with the 3rd Infantry Division, and on several distinct periods, tours of duty at the United States Military Academy at West Point. Upon John and Anne’s military retirement, Anne was awarded the coveted Army meritorious Award for Civilian Service for her standout role as an Army wife.
Over time, Anne has also offered numerous hours to volunteer efforts in local communities wherever her family has been, and in recent years has served as a member of the Fairfax City’s 4th of July committee, which oversees and organizes yearly Fairfax’s nationally renowned 4th of July Parade, Fairfax City’s wonderful Chocolate Lover’s Festival, and as well, the fabulous Fairfax Children’s Music Festival. Of note, Anne has over the last several years also directed numerous efforts in raising close to $150,000 for the National Capital Region’s Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Anne is also a volunteer member of the George Mason University’s University Life Advisory Board, and has just taken on the role of Board Secretary.
Angelia D. Farnell, a Louisiana native and Army Veteran. She retired in 2018 as a Colonel with 30 years of active duty service as a Master Army Aviator/Intelligence Analysis. Angelia is a 1988 graduate of Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge Louisiana where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and was a distinguished military graduate of the School’s Reserve Officer Trainer Corps program. She was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Army Aviation and received training and qualifications in both rotary and multi engine fixed wing aircraft and later received training in tactical intelligence. During her 30 year career, Colonel Farnell served in a variety of leadership positions during peacetime and wartime that included commanding at the company, battalion, and brigade levels. She also has extensive experience at the executive level, serving as Chief of Staff for the Army’s Office of the Chief of Public of Affairs in the Pentagon for two years, Deputy Chief of Staff of the United States Forces Koreas, Combined Forces Command, United Nations Command (USFK/CFC/UNC) for two years, multiple tours as a principal staff officer on the Secretary of Defense Staff, and a tour as a Senior Fellow in the Stimpson Center Think Tank in Washington DC. Colonel Farnell also has extensive experience managing programs, projects, and people. She is a graduate of the US Army’s Senior Service College- Harvard University Kennedy School National Security Fellow, US Army’s Command and General Staff College, and the Joint Forces Staff College. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Troy State University, Troy, Alabama.
Angelia currently works for Compass, Inc. as a contractor supporting the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency as a Program Manager, Subject Matter Expert. Helping others is her passion and when she and her husband Carl are not traveling in their spare time they are giving back to the community and helping others through various volunteer opportunities and non-profit organizations.
John Felker currently serves as the President of Morse Alpha Associates, a cyber security consulting firm based in Bonita Springs, FL.
Prior to joining Morse Alpha Associates, Felker led the Integrated Operations Division (IOD) for CISA. Felker also served as Director of Cyber and Intelligence Strategy for HP Enterprise Services. He co-authored several papers on cyber intelligence under the auspices of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance and served on the cyber committee of AFCEA.
During a 30-year career in the U.S. Coast Guard, Felker served, among other positions, as Deputy Commander, Coast Guard Cyber Command and Commander, U.S. Coast Guard Cryptologic Group. Additionally, he commanded USCGC CAPE UPRIGHT and USCGC RED CEDAR.
He is currently on the board of directors of the Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, the board of advisors for the Military Cyber Professionals Association, the Cyber Security Forum Initiative and the Board of Governors of the Army Navy Country Club.
His military awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit and the Meritorious Service Medal.
Felker graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science and earned his Master of Arts in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.
The Griffin family’s story is one of perseverance and unity. Both Jackie and husband Robert were active military Non-commissioned Officers; they were determined to challenge their children to pursue greatness. But, greatness was not defined as an athletic challenge; although two of the three Griffin children were awarded athletic scholarships to Baylor University and Northwestern State University. In the Griffin household, faith development was essential; education was for their empowerment followed by other pursuits.
Life in the US Army provided a unique environment for the Griffin family to grow. They were privileged in assignments toFort Carson, Colorado; Okinawa, Japan; Fort Lewis, Washington; New Orleans; Seoul, Korea and Fort Hood, Texas. They experienced different cultures and dynamic of living conditions of a mobile military family where Jackie and Robert focused on the opportunities of the regions. While assigned to Fort Lewis, Washington; the Griffin family could often be found visiting Mount St. Helens walking the trials, climbing the snow covered slopes of Mount Rainier or ice skating in Portland, Oregon. Jackie and Robert ensured their children appreciated the land in which they took an oath to defend. The Griffin’s finally nested in a place called home in their final assignment at Fort Hood (Central TX). Jackie and Robert II were able to finish their college degrees setting precedence in challenging their children to attain higher education aspirations.
In addition to a strong faith and belief in prayer, the Griffin’s supported their children in all their endeavors. From Junior High to High School, Jackie attended every practice and game for RG3 and many practices while at Baylor University. Whether Robert II was deployed in Iraq or performing his military duties;Jackie would video each practice to send to Robert II, who in turn would dissect, develop skill strengthening drills to better equip RG3 in his goals of mastering his quarterbacking skills.
Today, when not traveling to speak, the Griffins are actively involved in the lives their community youth ages 3 to 18. Jackie serves as Administrator for the AAU Five Hills Track and Field Team led by Head Coach Robert II. Near and dear to their hearts are Veterans – the entire Griffin family is committed to ending Veteran homelessness.
Mark has spent his entire career working in the computer consulting industry in both the Public and Private sectors. Prior to founding NuWave Solutions, Mr. Keyser served in leadership roles including Office Leader, Director, Data Warehouse Practice Manager and Government Business Unit Leader at Booz Allen & Hamilton, Computer Sciences Corporation, Rapid Systems Solutions and Metamor Worldwide. His technical career includes specializations in database design and software development. Mark has vast experience in delivering enterprise data solutions including transactional database implementations, data warehouses, and data migration.
Mark has a B.S. Degree in Computer Science from Central Michigan University. Mark resides in Mount Airy Maryland and enjoys traveling, sporting events and giving back to his community. In particular, Mark believes in supporting our veterans who have given so much to our country.
