ORHF Makes a Difference

Each year, ORHF helps over 100 Veterans and their families in the DC metro area who are experiencing homelessness. Every client is literally homeless (living in shelter, car, on the street) and we are working to clear the barriers to getting them into homes. We do this by paying for application fees and security deposits, covering transportation to look at apartments, and helping out with utility bills. We want our Veterans and their families to be at a place where they can rebuild their lives and where their children can have the stability they need before the school year begins. Together we can end Veteran homelessness in the DC metropolitan region.

ORHF and its 30+ member team are determined to help these men and women secure homes for themselves and their families. Since inception in December 2011, we assisted more than 800 Veterans and their family members.  We found these Veterans homes ending their cycle of homelessness or prevented them from becoming homeless, paid their security deposits, application fees, and rent to stabilize Veterans and enable them to live productive lives. We have provided our Veterans with other resources such as transportation, donated furniture and household items, dental appointments, business attire, and employment networking.

Please join us in this fight.
